The emphasis is on providing in-depth understanding through a platform focusing on the exchange of information, space for research and experimentation. Bradwolff also offers a distinctive public outreach program, including artist talks, art dinners, lectures or music events.
Since 2014, Bradwolff Projects has had its own exhibition space, the attractive domed room of the surgery building in the former Burger Hospital in Amsterdam East. The building with its symmetrical halls is very suitable for focused and incisive presentations. It is located in a beautiful public courtyard, an oasis of calm in the lively district of East.
These surroundings offer plenty of opportunity for intensive contact with the public from the district, the wider city and other parts of the Netherlands. The foundation attracts artists who have a broader international reach and are engaged in special artistic and art theoretical research that predominately relates to current social themes. The direct connection between the exhibition space inside and the outdoor garden environment is unique and is widely used in both the mediation program and the artists’ presentations.
The former hospital is located on the Linnaeusstraat and was designed in 1890 by A.L. Van Gendt [1835-1901].
