A new initiative by Amsterdam Art is the release of the Special Editions. Each participating gallery presents an extraordinary and affordable limited edition artwork with prices ranging between €300-€500 each. The artworks are on show in every gallery and together they form an exhibition throughout the city. Artists were inspired by the overarching theme: Infra-Ordinary, which describes the phenomenon when the banality of everyday life suddenly gets a special meaning.
Prominent partner venues such as Stedelijk Museum, Oude Kerk, de Ateliers and Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten will also present a special program. Stedelijk Museum will showcase their exhibition Ulay Was Here, which includes screenings and performances. Oude Kerk will be hosting their program The World After: Conversation Pieces in which artists are invited to share their outlook on the world after the coronavirus pandemic. The 150-year anniversary of the Rijksakademie will be celebrated by the release of their Artist Edition Box, a Rijksakademie exhibition in a box. Additionally, the academy launches an exhibition on their 150-year long history.
