Shezad Dawood

British artist Shezad Dawood is currently working on his epic project ‘Leviathan’, a series of ten films, sculptures and other art works and seminars that bring together dazzling notions of natural evolution, marine biology, mass migration, mysticism, democracy and the future of mankind.


Dawood is a Jarman Award nominee (2012) and one of the winners of the Abraaj Capital Art Prize (2011). Recent solo exhibitions and screenings were held at Rubin Museum of Art (New York, 2018), MOSTYN (Llandundo, 2018), Palazzina Canonica and Fortuny Factory (Venice, 2017-2018), Si Shang Art Museum (Beijing, 2017), Mori Art Museum (Tokyo, 2016), Museum of Modern Art (New York, 2015), MACBA (Barcelona, 2014), Parasol Unit (London, 2014), OCAT (Shenzhen, 2014) and Modern Art Oxford (2012). The artist is represented by Timothy Taylor (London), Jane Lombard Gallery (New York) and HE.RO (Amsterdam).
