Danse Macabre - Sanghee Song

23 November - 26 January at Van Zijll Langhout / Contemporary Art
Sanghee Song

The multimedia artist Sanghee Song will show works exhibited in 2017 at South Korea’s National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, which awarded her the Korea Artist Prize. These comprise three multimedia installations:  a two-channel video-based piece entitled Geegers, ‘You and I’ (2018); ‘This is the Way the World Ends Not With a Bang But a Whimper’ (2017), composed of wall-mounted, blue-and-white ceramic tiles with hand-drawn depictions of explosions; and ‘Danse Macabre’ (2018), a rotating circular lamp with images of the painting ‘The Danse Macabre’ from the Holy Trinity Church in Hrastovlje, Slovenia.
