Manifesta Amsterdam has been based in a historical Herengracht canal house since 2013. To make this working space more accessible to the public and to enable Manifesta to become more engaged with the city’s art scene, an Amsterdam-based institution is invited to create a site-specific show twice a year.
For this special edition Manifesta is pleased to welcome Jorg Grimm as a guest-curator. The exhibition will be composed of recent and new work, entering a dialogue with the rich history of the building and its location.
The exhibition also forms a starting point for public meetings, discussions and receptions taking place during Amsterdam Art Weekend and thereafter. With this program, Manifesta would like to show its appreciation and support for the Amsterdam art scene.
