Lily van der Stokker has built up an extensive and unique oeuvre with her drawings and monumental wall paintings. These refer to private thoughts, friendship and kindness, and to non-arty activities such as cleaning, making lists of curators, and doctor visits.
In parallel with her ‘Friendly Good’ exhibition in the Stedelijk Museum, Van der Stokker shows a new mural and other drawings and sculptures. The texts in her works are private thoughts of the kind not often expressed in art, such as “Kees [gallerist] and I [artist] always fight about VAT” and "Transfer that money to me.” She has also invited her artist friend Wjm Kok to display works in the AP space at the back of the gallery.
