Amsterdam Art Weekend offers a wide variety of exhibitions throughout the city.
To make it easy for you we made some routes, so you save time and can enjoy all there is to discover.
In need of a break from the hectic city life and looking for some green? Get on your bike and explore these exhibitions that focus on/or investigate the relationship between human and nature. Start the day at Akinci located in the center of Amsterdam to see the group-exhibition Let’s talk about nature in which the artist questioned themselves what the relation is between human beings and nature in the twenty-first century? And then head over to the Jordaan neighborhood, but make a stop at Borzo Gallery, Ellen de Bruijne Projects and Galerie Caroline O’Breen. For the best coffee-and lunch spots in town, visit the nine streets or de Elandsgracht. At the corner of the Elandsgracht you will find, Galerie Ron Mandos with the exhibition Postnaturalia from the artist Krištof Kintera. It is a comparative study on the behavior and structures of natural and technological systems, shown through installations, sketches, drawings, and printed materials. After exploring nature within the confines of the gallery space, take the ferry from Central Station to the other side of the IJ canal. One last gallery to explore He.Ro, with a solo exhibition of Shezad Dawood, expect a series of TV storyboards, masquerading as large-scale landscape paintings. End your day with a drink and a snack at one of the nice, creative hotspots along the IJ canal.
