Every morning / he changed the canaries / fed the mule / and stood transfixed for ½ an hour
(from: Sam Shepard, Motel Chronicles)

For 24H East P/////AKT will be turned into a literary dive bar, with text fragments, stories and poetry concerning the impermanent state of things on the menu. We will travel crisscross, through sudden transformations, along sneaking changes, towards absurd, banal, poetic and philosophical reflections on the notions of change as a constant phenomenon within the everyday life.

Lorelinde Verhees’ exhibition will still be in an unfinished state. The reading-bar functions as a first welcome to its theme, probing the relation between the object and the context in which it appears, how they mutually influence and alter each other. Language and text perform the connective part in the process of investigating these relationships.

For 24H East Lorelinde Verhees has invited people to read the texts of their choice to the audience in a relay form, allowing new crisscross relations to occur between different perspectives and approaches. Be welcome!

Program:
18.30 hrs bar open
19.00-20.00 hrs and 20.30-21.30 hrs readings
