 Muntadas Activating Artifacts: About Academia
De Appel exhibition programme opens in its renewed, nomadic form with a solo presentation by the Spanish artist Antoni Muntadas: Activating Artifacts: About Academia. Presented at the Rozenstraat 59, Amsterdam, and in partnership with the University of Amsterdam.

The exhibition is developed by Niels Van Tomme and organised by the Center for Art, Design and Visual Culture at UMBC in Baltimore in partnership with De Appel. There will be a catalogue published later this year. The book contains a visual essay by Muntadas and essays focusing on recent developments in higher education.

There is an additional FOOTNOTES presentation organised by De Appel Curatorial Programme taking place at UvA Turfdraagsterpad 15-17 providing four historical case studies of artists founding academic structures, as well as a public program organised at UvA’s VOX-POP.
