Join the ‘Ensemble of Memories’ and discover new perspectives on the main themes of the exhibition from Hiwa K: TO REMEMBER, SOMETIMES YOU NEED DIFFERENT ARCHEOLOGICAL TOOLS.

The ‘Ensemble of Memories’ brings together different voices, groups and communities to share knowledge, experiences and memories. For this project De Appel invites different members of the Kurdish community who translate the main themes of the exhibition into personal stories and activities.

Each activity consists out of a physical, yet cultural act like cooking, dancing, making music and drawing. These activities serve as tools to collect stories and memories. As part of the exhibition, these stories will be recorded and will remain available for the visitors of De Appel.

The Ensemble of Memories is developed together with the Kurdish community living in the Netherlands.

Discover together with Roonak Faraji and Farzad Saifikaran the exhibition of Hiwa K. Roonak Faraji is a Kurdish writer and poet, Farzad Saifikaran is a photographer. Through their personal poems and photo’s they will engage with the different theme’s of the exhibition and create different moments to experience the artworks presented at De Appel.
