Anne Imhof, DEAL, 2015, performance and installation at Moma PS1, New York
Working across a variety of media, Anne Imhof evokes the power structures, secret codes, and unspoken rules that underlie all niche communities. The artist rejects conventional distinctions between a live event, its documentation, and related objects. For her, all components are equally important, each providing a different angle. Together they contribute to works in perpetual process, highly precarious, and always on the verge of falling apart.

Anne Imhof, winner of the Preis der Nationalgalerie 2015, had solo shows at Hamburger Bahnhof (Berlin, 2016), Kunsthalle Basel (2016), Moma PS1 (New York, 2015), Carré d’Art (Nîmes, 2015) Liste Performance Program (Art Basel, 2015), and Portikus (Frankfurt, 2015). The artist is represented by Galerie Daniel Buchholz (Cologne/Berlin), Galerie Isabella Bortolozzi (Berlin) en Reena Spauldings Fine Art (New York).

Anne Imhof (1978, Giesen , Germany) lives in Berlin.
