Georges ADÉAGBO, THE DEFENSE..! “Who would take up defense and come defend us,if we had not taken up Defense and defend ourselves “..! 2016. Photographer: Gert Jan van Rooij
Georges Adéagbo (Benin, 1942) is one of West Africa’s foremost artists. His installations, built using artefacts from everyday culture, tackle subjects such as slavery, socialism, religion, war and art.

Ni Haifeng (China, 1964) uses photography, video and installations to draw attention to the cyclical movements of people and products created by colonialism.

The drawings, installations, photographs and sculptures of Otobong Nkanga (Nigeria, 1974) examine the theme of land and the value connected to natural resources.
