The Merchant House welcome you to TMH Saturday: the show of Judit Reigl (French, born Hungary, 1923) concludes in a Joycean/Cagean crescendo.

Cutting-edge cellist-composer Frances-Marie Uitti will perform Marcel Duchamp’s rarely heard Erratum Musical (1913) as well as works by John Cage and James Joyce. Uitti’s own work is informed by her many collaborations with composers, filmmakers, and artists. Her second Reigl Program connects her music to that of Cage and, extraordinarily, to her reading of Joyce. The webwork of other artists—John Cage, William Anastasi, Royden Rabinowitch, and Brian O'Doherty—who share an affinity to Joyce is also the subject of Prof. Lerm-Hayes’s introduction. Professor and Chair of Modern and Contemporary Art History at the University of Amsterdam, Lerm Hayes wrote and curated Joyce in Art (Dublin, 2004).

Program:
19:00 Closing view of the exhibition
19:45 Introduction by Prof. Christa-Maria “Mia” Lerm Hayes
20:15 Cellist Frances-Marie Uitti
Music by John Cage, György Kurtag, Marcel Duchamp, and Uitti
21:00 Toast to Reigl
