Third edition of the Apprentice/Master project at De Brakke Grond
For the third time De Brakke Grond presents a collaboration between apprentices and a Master, Kunstpodium T, initiator of the project, brought together six international art academy students out of different time zones and challenge them to collaborate. As an apprentice, they work with master artist Alex Verhaest (BE) around the theme No maps for these territories. No myths for these countries of the mind.
In this post-geographic era, where internet facilitates an international collaboration, at the same time there seem to be a call for clear boundaries as well. Together with Alex Verhaest, master in this project, the students anticipate on  their complex assignment and work around a quote of William Gibson: ´No maps for these territories, though they are of our own creation. No myths for these countries of the mind´.
This exhibition is part of the Apprentice/Master season 15/16 with 26 exhibitions as a result of a collaboration between apprentices and masters.
