Looking back: Amsterdam Art Weekend 2016

24 - 27 Nov

Amsterdam Art Weekend 2016 came to a close. We would like to say a huge thank you to all the participants, partners and visitors who made this fifth edition into a success!

During a sun-drenched long weekend art professionals and enthusiasts from both the Netherlands and abroad came together for a diverse program that took place at 50 art institutions spread throughout the city.

At RijksakademieOPEN 46 artist studios opened their doors to the public, 28 galleries presented their newest exhibitions during the buzzing “Gallery Night”, an exhibition by Jordan Wolfson opened at the Stedelijk Museum including the spectacular work Colored Sculpture, Prince Claus Fund Gallery showed new work by El Anatsui, and artist Meiro Koizumi gave a performance at Manifesta’s head offices. This is only a small selection of the extensive program of over 100 activities. If you want to have a look at the whole program, click here for the online booklet.

Curious? Join us next year for Amsterdam Art Weekend 2017!
